Global Youth Leadership Programme 2013-15 was a two-year leadership learning initiative jointly organised by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Peking University. It aimed at promoting holistic development of a group of outstanding student leaders, particularly, helping them better understand comtemporary China and the world from a global perspective. An elite group of 45 students from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Thailand, South Korea and the United States, since them embarked upon a voyage of challenge and discovery, striving to become "practical dreamers" of tomorrow, who possess the determination and the ability to serve the global society, to challenge the present and to enrich the future.
This programme and the later Silk Road Youth Leadership Programme 2015-16 led to the nowadays "SOAR Youth Leadership Programme", the flagship leadership training of the Institute.
