Stop. Relax. Discover: Expressive Arts Workshop
Do you find yourself feeling irritable or easily frustrated? Do you have difficulty concentrating on your studies? Have you had trouble sleeping or felt sleepy all the time?
Join us in “Stop. Relax. Discover: Expressive Arts Workshop”, to experience together the power of arts to heal and to connect!
The entire workshop consists of 2 sessions and is facilitated by a Registered Arts Therapist – ANZACATA.
In the first session, PolyU students will have a taste of how arts are used to enhance self-awareness and for emotional regulation. You will also explore the characteristics and needs of ethnic minorities via arts. In the second session, PolyU students will participate as big brothers/sisters to guide non-Chinese speaking secondary school students through the creative art-making process in relieving their stress. Both parties will then join together to co-create a unique artwork, which fosters mutual support and appreciation.
Throughout the workshop, therapeutic methods are introduced with creativity. Participants share the joy, tears and fun with empathy, transforming their life experiences into new shapes of well-being.

Home-Street-Home
In collaboration with Christian Concern for The Homeless Association, this programme allows participants to meet, listen, and learn from the people facing housing problems. Sham Shui Po (SSP) residents who are (were) street sleepers will take you on a tour from the street to the alley, giving you a fresh view to understand their “home”. Followed by a human library session, the rooted housing and social capital issue in the district will be revealed.
Besides, two handcraft workshops of “Macrame Coaster” and “Pastel Nagomi Art” by a group of underprivileged women will be held at PolyU. From the workshops, you will not only be allowed to take away a lovely final product but also be filled with their stories about home and life transformation.
Lastly, participating students will change places with SSP neighbours to provide them a tour of the PolyU campus to get a taste of university life and connect with students.

Experiencing South Asian community in Kwai Chung
This is a precious opportunity for you to learn about ethnic minorities in Hong Kong! You will take a guided tour along Ping Lai Path in Kwai Chung to experience a day in the South Asian community. A Nature Walk with Refugees
We are hosting a walk in the beautiful natural environment of Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden for you to experience peace in nature. Partnering with Christian Action, Refugee and non-refugee participants will be paired up for experiential activities in different locations along the walk. It will be a journey of sharing and reflecting that will enable participants to learn from each other.

Be a Tour Guide: Understand, Co-design & Share the Stories of Hung Hom Community
As part of Hung Hom community, PolyU students can closely connect with the Hung Hom community. Have you thought of how much you know this community and how you can introduce its features to others?
For the SL Festival, the NGO “Kai Fong Tour” will hold a special event for PolyU students called "Be a Tour Guide: Understand, Co-design & Share the Stories of Hung Hom Community". Through the activities of this event, students will be endorsed with social innovation as they envision the potential of Hung Hom.
With a well-designed route in hand, participants will be PolyU Ambassadors, guiding international participants of the International Conference on Service-Learning (ICSL) to get to know our Hung Hom community and gain insights about our local culture.
