Big Mouth Corner (The English Club Initiative Which Has Been Relaunched)
Student Corner
Big Mouth Corner (BMC), a weekly English chat corner coordinated by ELC, was relaunched on 6 October 2022. This activity offers all PolyU students an opportunity to socialise in English, meet students from other cultures and backgrounds, and explore new interests in a fun and informal setting. BMC began in 1999 as an ELC English Club initiative. A brief hiatus occurred during the pandemic, and it was held online in 2021. With the return of face-to-face learning, BMC is again providing English support for students eager to improve their speaking fluency.
Gu Bei Wei Lisa (Year 2 of BAEAL) and Rahimov Ismatullo (Year 4 of BAESP) are among eight student facilitators who lead activities, host games, and promote informal conversation in a friendly and engaging atmosphere. BMC will continue throughout the academic year at the Centre for Independent Language Learning (CILL) in A305.
