The 8 renovated classrooms (CD301, CD302, CD303, CD304, CF302, CF303, EF311 and EF312) and a collaborative learning space in CDEF wings have been in use from Semester 1, 2018/19. The 6 rooms in CD and CF wings are in lecture-style layout with movable chairs and the 2 rooms in EF wing are in flexible-style layout to suit different pedagogical needs. These rooms can accommodate a class size of 40 to 60 students. The new informal learning space located at CD wing has different types of furniture to facilitate individual and group learning and social activities.
With an aim to offer consistent experience for faculty and students, the layouts, settings, and technologies of the renovated classrooms in CDEF wings are similar to the refitted classrooms on BC 2-3/F. Standard classroom technologies include Apple TV for wireless presentations, new projectors, control panel and intercom system. Increased space per student, semi-transparent glass wall, extensive whiteboards, and increased number of electrical sockets are common in all the refurbished classrooms. Blue, orange and yellow are the theme colours of these new learning spaces which create a lively environment for learning.
