Congratulations to Chair Professor Sun Defeng on Receiving Fellowship from the Operations Research Society of China

We are pleased to announce that Chair Professor Sun Defeng has been awarded the prestigious life-long Fellowship 2024 from the Operations Research Society of China (ORSC), recognizing his significant contributions to the field of optimization research.

The award presentation ceremony took place on October 10, 2024, during the 17th ORSC Annual General Meeting at Guizhou University. Professor Sun is one of only four scholars to receive this Fellowship, which is regarded as the highest honor awarded by ORSC.

About ORSC

The Operations Research Society of China (ORSC) has been a national member of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS) since 1982. It is also a founding member of the Association of Asian Pacific Operational Research Societies (APORS), having hosted two APORS triennial conferences in 1991 in Beijing and in 2012 in Xi'an. The ORSC office is located in Beijing, the capital of China, and it boasts over 2,000 registered members across 16 special interest groups, including mathematical programming, graph and combinatorial optimization, game theory and applications, corporate operations research, reliability, industrial data-oriented optimization, operational management, and behavioral operations research, among others.

ORSC convenes a national congress every two years, typically in October, attracting around a thousand participants who present their latest research findings.
