Appendices | Departmental Academic Advisors, Overseas Academic Advisors and External Examiners/Advisors
The Departmental Academic Advisors System has been in place since 1997/98, whereby each Department appoints a Departmental Academic Advisor to give advice relating to its academic programmes, subjects, and development. Departments may appoint Overseas Academic Advisors, in addition to their DAA, to address specific needs relating to their programme or discipline portfolio.
To meet the requirement of professional bodies, an External Examiner is appointed for certain programmes to provide an external and impartial check on the examination process and standards, allowing Departments to benefit from their professional academic and examining experience. External Advisors are appointed, by the College of Professional and Continuing Education, to give advice on the curriculum design and development, learning and teaching, and quality assurance of Associate Degree programmes.
