Research Assistant Professor

Explores the role of vascular dysfunction in age-related joint disorders: from mechanisms to therapies

Biography

Man Ting Au, currently a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, received her BSc degree in Biochemistry from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and PhD degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2015 and 2020 respectively. During her PhD study and postdoctoral training, she deciphered the role of endothelin signalling in the pathogenesis of posttraumatic and post-COVID osteoarthritis. These findings pave the road towards the development of novel mechanism-based therapeutic strategies for debilitating bone and joint diseases. Her original research work has been published in prestigious scholarly journals, including Nature Microbiology, Osteoarthritis & Cartilage and ACS Nano, recognized by the Young Investigator Award at the 18th International Conference on Endothelin (ET-18 2023) in Rome.
