WIE Features

WIE Intended Learning Objectives:

• To advise clients through rendering surveying service for Surveying students;
• To identify and solve problems in property management practices for Property Management students;
• To acquire on-site technical skills for Building Engineering & Management students.
• To identify and solve problems related to the profession & industry.
• To communicate effectively.
• To contribute as a team member and lead effectively.

Mode of WIE:

• Minimum duration: 4 weeks or equivalent.

Allowance:

• As we expect employer will assign duties with learning purpose in some extent to students, there will be no minimum compensation or allowances rate for students stipulated. Nevertheless, we still encourage employers/organizations to provide a token meal and transport allowance of comparative market value for students.

MPF :

• Companies are obliged by requirement of MPF Ordinance. If a student is regarded as an employee of the company, MPF contribution is compulsory. If a student works for  a company on training relationship, MPF contribution is not compulsory.  The status  of students in work is at discretion of organization/company.

Insurance:

• Basic insurance coverage is provided by the University for WIE activities. We still encourage employers/organizations to provide coverage under Employee Compensation.

Location:

• We welcome consideration of offering placement opportunities to both our local and non-local students, who come from Mainland China or overseas, in either Hong Kong, China or overseas.
