HKIPM and HKICM Joint CPD Seminar on"Journey to Co-space Development in Hong Kong"
The CPD seminar was jointly organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Project Management(HKIPM) and the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM), together with the Department of Building and Real Estate (BRE) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) as the supporting organization. The guest speaker (Ms Addie Cheng) was jointly invited by the two organizers to deliver a technical seminar entitled "Journey to Co-space(共享空間) Development in Hong Kong " at 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm on Friday, 2 February 2018 at lecture room TU-103, PolyU campus.
The 130 registered participants of the seminar consisted of the members of HKIPM and HKICM, previous graduates and current students of BRE, together with some other industrial practitioners and friends. However, as a result of the limited seating capacity of the venue, the two joint organizers ultimately admitted only 100 participants under the "first-come first-served" principle, and priority of admission given to the members of HKIPM and HKICM, and graduates of BRE of PolyU.
The guest speaker (Ms Addie Cheng) is a Registered Architect, and the Co-founder and Director of Synergy Biz Group Ltd. She has a wide spectrum of professional knowledge and experience on various kinds of projects. Addie is deicated to providing innovative solutions to the youth of Hong Kong through the idea of “co-space”. She is enthusiastic with revitalizing under-utilized properties into creative, practical and affordable co-living, co-working and multi-purpose spaces with the aim of creating an extended community circle for the next generation.
Based on over 15 years of working experience in the architectural industry in Hong Kong, the guest speaker shared with the audience the challenges and opportunities in developing co-space projects, with particular focus on Hong Kong situation. She also presented her professional team’s efforts in creating co-working and co-living spaces across the territory,including her latest co-living project “Bibliothèque (書匯) with URL: http://www.co-living.hk/zh-cht/index#wcl” located in Mongkok, Kowloon.
The seminar was very informative, clearly presented and thought-provoking. It was well received by 75 show-up attendees with attendance rate of 75%, together with another 1 walk-in participant. The seminar ended with some interesting questions from the audience and insightful answers from the guest speaker.
