Good news always comes in pairs, another PhD student of BRE, Ms Nimesha Jayasena, and her Chief Supervisor, Cr Dr Daniel Chan, Associated Head of Teaching, and Co-supervisor, Professor Mohan Kumaraswamy, with their paper entitled “Potential for PPP in the Next Wave of Smart Infrastructure: In Smart Villages and Rural Infrastructure” was selected as the Highly Commended Paper Award 2022 in the category of CIB W122 Sessions: Public Private Partnerships: Past, Present and Future” of the CIB World Building Congress 2022 (WBC 2022). Every third year, CIB organises its triennial World Building Congress. The primary aim is to provide a platform for all building and construction professionals and researchers in the world, both in and outside the CIB community, to join together and exchange their expertise. In 2022 RMIT University’s School of Property, Construction and Project Management in Melbourne was the co-host for the 22nd World Building Congress (WBC 2022), which had the theme title Building our Future: Informing practice to enhance the lives of current and future generations. The 4-day hybrid Congress was conducted at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia and successfully concluded on 30 June 2022.
