簡歷

張宇博士畢業于斯坦福大學東亞語言文化系。她的第一本英文專著《走向鄉土與現代中國文化(1915-1965)》2020年由密歇根大學出版社出版。過去幾十年間的現代中國文化研究都以都市空間為主導,這本書將鄉土空間重新納入文化研究的視域,書寫了作爲現代經驗的「走向鄉土」與啓蒙、革命以及工業化的關係,同時探討了跨越差異性地理空間的行爲如何創造了新的感知和體驗空間。

她目前正在從事兩個研究課題:1)「電話訴衷腸:中國的電信情感史(20世紀初到九零年代)」;2)「新勞模:改革開放之後中國的工作文化」
