Expandable MiC
Expandable Housing by Modular Integrated Construction (eMiC) offers an adaptable MiC building system with various spatial capacities and architectural flexibility to meet a wide range of functional requirements, accommodation configurations and terrain constraints. Led by Design Institute for Social Innovation at PolyU, this is a collaborative project among various practitioners and CNERC.

Visually Guided Robotic Welding System for On-site Application
A 9-dimensional Robotic Welding System is developed integrating existing technologies of artificial intelligence, robotic kinematics with various operating systems, and gas shielded arc welding to establish a visually guided robotic welding system for on-site application.

Tubular structures
Manufacturing processes of cold-formed hollow sections often involve transverse bending and longitudinal welding. In order to simulate these manufacturing processes in fabricating high strength S690 cold-formed hollow sections, and more importantly, effects due to these fabrication processes on structural behaviour of these sections, a comprehensive experimental and numerical investigation is carried out. Hence, an integrated and coordinated advanced numerical simulation approach (iCANS approach) using coupled analyses is proposed.
