President visits alumni in Australia
PolyU President Prof. Timothy W. Tong was welcomed by alumni in Sydney and Melbourne during his visit to the two cities from 24 to 26 August 2012. Prof. Tong shared with them the latest development of PolyU, including the implementation of the four-year curriculum, service learning and various capital projects. He also introduced PolyU’s Hotel ICON and a number of award-winning research projects. In addition, during his stay in Sydney, Prof. Tong joined multi-media artist Alex Ma's exhibition “dupliCITY” as the Guest of Honour. Alex, a renowned artist in Hong Kong and Australia, is also a PolyU design alumnus. The event was jointly organized by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office and PolyU (Australia) Association to commemorate the 15th Anniversary of the HKSAR and the 10th Anniversary of the Alumni Association. President Tong attended the dinner gathering with students and graduates in Singapore organized by the PolyU Association (Singapore) on 11 August. Among the participants was Mr Fong Ngai, Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (ASEAN), also PolyU accounting alumnus.
