PolyU has been proposing the construction of the Green Deck over the Cross Harbour Tunnel plaza, which is an innovative solution to problems in the Cross Harbour Tunnel vicinity. With the objective of partnering with different sectors in society for better developing this proposal, the University recently organized a conference with sharing by professionals from the planning, engineering, transportation, tourism and green construction sectors.
During the event, participants explored the potential of this project in various aspects, including planning and social issues, greening, environment and health issues, engineering feasibility, community building and connectivity. Participants also discussed how to further realise this project which will contribute to fostering Hong Kong’s sustainable development.
