Our Approach
Throughout the programme, you will be encouraged and supported to carefully think about and apply what you learn to YOUR TEACHING and YOUR STUDENTS’ LEARNING.
In Weeks 1 to 4 we will explore and try out some tools that will provide you with data to IMPROVE and PROVE your teaching. This will be particularly useful for participants who want to put together a TEACHING PORTFOLIO.
From Week 5, the workshops will continue to be (inter)active and most will follow a similar format:
- A PolyU colleague – with particular expertise or who is recognised for their good efforts in teaching – will share with you what they have done in either addressing a common challenge or engaging students in a challenging learning experience
- Using different activities (ones that you might find useful in your own teaching) we will further explore these practices along with others from elsewhere
- You’ll have time to design interventions that will work for you and your students
Duration and Certification
The programme consists of:
- 10 face-to-face 2-hour workshops (20 hours work in all)
- 10 hours of class readings, tasks or presentations
A Certificate of Attendance will be given for meeting these participation requirements:
- Attend at least eight of the 10 workshops
- Complete pre-class readings/task for the workshops you attend
You can download the Certificate of Attendance via EDC Certificates System.
