Our heartfelt congratulations to Ir Prof. Chan Ching-chuen for obtaining the award of Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) by the Government of the HKSAR to acknowledge his remarkable contribution and vital role in Hong Kong’s growth.
Prof. Chan is the first person in Hong Kong to have been elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. For many years, he has engaged in the research and development of electric machines and power systems, laying the foundation for the science of modern electric vehicles. As one of the founders of the Greater Bay Area Association of Academicians, he has fostered cross-disciplinary exchanges in the scientific community, facilitating technology and innovation development in the region and the development of Hong Kong as an international innovation and technology hub. With his hard work and determination, Prof. Chan is awarded GBS in recognition of his exemplary accomplishments in the engineering profession and innovation and technology development.
