Dr MAI Weijie
Doctor of Philosophy, 2017
Dr MAI Weijie received his Bachelor of Engineering Degree (with First Class Honors) from The University of New South Wales in Australia and Doctor of Philosophy Degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Awardee of Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme), both in electrical engineering, in 2012 and 2017, respectively. He was also recognized as the Overseas High-Caliber Personnel (Shenzhen Peacock Plan) in 2020.
Dr MAI currently serves as the Vice-President at Shenzhen Auto Electric Power Plant Co., Ltd., a listed and state-recognized high-tech enterprise that established in 1993 and focuses on designing, developing, manufacturing and operation of high-power industrial charging equipment. In his role, he assumes responsibility for the daily operational management of the Department of New Energy, overseeing various divisions such as R&D, Business, Sales, Investment, Construction, After-Sales, and Charging Station Operation. His primary objective is to ensure smooth and efficient operations across all divisions while driving the company's strategic initiatives in the field of new energy.
Deeply involved in the new energy industry, Dr MAI and his team have had a profound impact on the profession and industry, by contributing to the development of the world's fastest groundbreaking technology (Mega-Watt Adaptive Charging Power Pool) and the establishment of EV Ultra-Fast Public Charging Network with an impressive capacity of 235MW across the whole China, which exemplifies Dr MAI’s commitment to building safer, greener, and more efficient charging solutions while significantly minimizes the utilization of valuable public resources (e.g. land and power utilities), marking a notable step towards sustainable EV charging infrastructure.

Dr LEE Kang Kuen
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, 1994
Dr Lee has been working in the railway industry for 40+ years covering rolling stock and infrastructure maintenance, design and construction of new railway lines and major asset upgrading/replacement projects, operations, business development, and consultancy services both in Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas including Sweden, India, Middle East, Philippine, Singapore, and Australia. From 2013 to 2020 Dr Lee has been working on the first driverless metro line in Australia - Sydney Metro project and overseeing the successful commencement of first passenger service of the Northwest section in mid-2019, and the award in 2020 of a major contract to Hong Kong MTR for the City and Southwest section of the project. Since 2016 Dr Lee has also been serving as consultant to Singapore LTA on metro asset condition assessment, and SMRT as a member of the Technical Advisory Panel and Technical Mentor.
Dr Lee has been doing research work for the continuous condition monitoring of mission critical components of the railway using Fibre Bragg Grating sensors since 2012 and the deployment of AI to develop Smart Railway Linear Infrastructure and Smart Trains.
Dr Lee is a Chartered Engineer (UK), Member of IET (UK) and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.

Mr LAM Wing Chap, Peter
Higher Diploma in Electronic Engineering, 1982
Mr Lam Wing Chap joined the Hong Kong Telephone Company in 1973. With 48 years of service with the company, he had held senior positions in engineering, sales, marketing and wholesale business. Before his retirement from the company in May 2021, he was the Managing Director, Engineering of HKT Limited. He was primarily responsible for the planning and operation of the fixed and wireless networks, and supported a wide range of quadruple-play telecommunications services including voice, data, broadband, interactive multimedia, mobile and ICT projects in Hong Kong and overseas.
Mr Lam graduated with a Higher Diploma in Electronic Engineering in 1982 from the Hong Kong Polytechnic. He earned a Diploma in Management for Executive Development in 1991 from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Cable & Wireless International Executive Development Program at INSEAD, France in 1997.
Mr Lam was the Chairman of the Joint Utilities Policy Group (JUPG) (2012-2015), the Vice Chairman of Communications Association of Hong Kong (2018-2022), a member of Departmental Advisory Committee of Department of Computing, PolyU (2014-2018), a member of Departmental Advisory Committee of Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, PolyU (2018-2019) and the Chairman of Departmental Advisory Committee of Department of Electronic and Information Engineering, PolyU (2019-2021).
Mr Lam is now serving Huawei as a Principal Consultant at headquarter.
