Technical visit to the Hong Kong International Airport

5 Jun 2015

Date: 5th June 2015

A total of 29 students, research personnel and staff visited the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) on 5-June-2015. Engineers from the Hong Kong Airport Authority (HKAA) were serving as our tour guides and we are so happy to see one of our TSE graduates, Mr Frederick Ng, Graduate Engineer, was among the team.

A short presentation about the latest development of the HKIA was first given by Mr Joseph Lam, Manager, Special Systems Maintenance. Then we visited various facilities including:
- Charging facilities for the electric vehicles;
-  Depot and control centre of the Automated People Mover; and
- The energy efficient lighting in the departure hall.

The three-hour visit was both informative and fun. We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to members of the HKAA for arranging this event.
