The Engineering Club conducted a workshop on “Building an underwater robot” on 2-April-2016. Being one of the HK SciFest 2016 program , the workshop is intended to elevate the public’s interest in science and technology especially related to underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and at the same the promoting the Department.

There were 30 participants with secondary school students attending the workshop together with their teachers as well as parents and their children.

After a general introduction, participants began building their ROVs and Engineering Club members were serving as helpers. A group of three 14-year old girls was the first to complete their robot. All participants were having fun and able to test their ROVs.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Dr Clifford Choy of School of Design for providing us with the ROV kits that were used in the workshop.
