To promote students’ interest in microcontroller-based electronic product design and to raise students’ creativity, innovation and presentation skills, the Department organized the EIE Microcontroller Application Design Contest (2021-22) jointly with the RS Components Ltd. between December 2021 and February 2022. 28 students in 13 teams joined Phase I of this Contest. They had the opportunities to attend the workshops on DesignSpark Mechanical 3D and DesignSpark PCB software to enhance their technical knowledge before the submission of their proposals. 9 teams were shortlisted to enter Phase II of the Contest to implement their products in various areas like IoT, system control and sensor network, etc. They presented the ideas and designs of their products to a judging panel on 18 February 2022.
