Aims and Characteristics
The proposed programme aims at developing students into professionals in the fields of electronic and communication engineering with specialisms in the Internet-of-Things (IoT). The programme covers the leading edge technologies in electronic engineering, with a special focus on IoT and related applications.
This Programme aims at producing graduates with:
- a wide range of professional knowledge and skills relevant to Internet-of-Things,
- creativity and innovation,
- adaptability to changing technology and society, and
- all-rounded attributes.
On successful completion of the BEng (Hons) in Internet-of-Things programme, students will be able to:

- Understand the fundamentals of science and engineering and have the ability to apply them.
- Design and conduct experiments as well as evaluate the outcomes.
- Design systems, components, and processes to meet given specifications and constraints.
- Identify, formulate and solve problems relevant to Internet-of-Things.
- Use modern engineering/IT tools appropriate to Internet-of-Things practice.
- Know the contemporary issues and understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global and societal context.
- Work with others collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and have a knowledge of leadership.
- Recognize social, professional and ethical responsibility.
- Communicate effectively.
- Recognize the need for and engage in life-long learning.
