Aims and Characteristics
Programme Aims
This programme consists of the following programmes. Students admitted to the Scheme study together during the first year and then complete their preferred programme, normally within three years. Under this arrangement, students can make their choice after they have obtained a better understanding of the programmes.
Electronic Systems and Internet-of-Things (IoT) are among the key technologies that play important roles in modern-day living. Various sectors, including business, commerce, communication, education, entertainment, healthcare and transportation, require Electronic Systems and IoT for efficient operation. The programme aims to develop graduates with a wide range of professional knowledge and skills relevant to Electronic Systems and Internet-of-Things (IoT). The programme covers leading-edge technologies in electronic engineering, with a focus on IoT and related applications. These include artificial intelligence of things, robotics, sensor technologies, electronic devices and their associated software to sense, measure, interpret, connect and analyse data.
Programme Characteristics
This programme emphasises both theory and application. In the latter part of Year Three, students can use the knowledge that they have acquired to conduct an IoT project. In the Final Year, students can focus on selected areas by choosing relevant electives and completing a Capstone Project.
