PolyU celebrates its 85th Anniversary in 2022. A wide range of celebratory events will be held on campus. We welcome you to come back. You can now activate your PolyU Alumni eCard, to access the campus and join the year-round celebratory activities and eligibility to apply for the Alumni Sports Facilities User Card. To get your eCard, simply use your Alumni NetID to sign in the “My Profile & eCard” webpage, upload a recent photo and update personal profile. PolyU Beijing Alumni Network – Working Meeting 2022

On 22 January 2022, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Beijing Alumni Network organised its working meeting in Beijing. It was the first hybrid meeting in 2022 having 12 members participated in it. The meeting mainly focused on the arrangement in organising a series of activities for the celebration of PolyU’s 85th Anniversary and preparing for the election of new Executive Committee members. Mr Yang Dongri, President of Beijing Alumni Network, concluded the fruitful results of the Network in 2021 and shared the Network’s plan in 2022, which would make further efforts to serve the alumni in the region and continue promoting the exchanges of ideas and experiences among the alumni.

FHKPUAA Board of Directors (2021-2023) inaugurated

The Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Associations (FHKPUAA) held its Annual General Meeting and elected its new Board of Directors (2021-2023) on 16 December 2021. President's Dialogue with Alumni

2022 is a special year for the University as it marks our 85th Anniversary. President Professor Jin-Guang Teng would very much like to share with you the latest development of the University, and exchange views and suggestions.   Two sessions of President’s Dialogue with Alumni will be held on 16 and 21 February. Alumni from Hong Kong, the mainland and overseas are cordially invited to meet President Teng online. The exchanges will be conducted in English, Cantonese and Putonghua. RUC - PolyU Doctor of Management Alumni Network - Working Meeting

On 29 December 2021, the Renmin University of China – The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Doctor of Management Alumni Network organised its working meeting in Beijing. 14 members including alumni, staff and students participated in it. This is the 1st working meeting after Dr Wang Yong and Dr Jiang Bo were elected by the 1st Executive Committee as the 2nd President and the 2nd Secretary of DMgt Alumni Network. Dr Wang Yong hosted the meeting and introduced the future work plan of the Network. Dr Jiang Bo committed that the secretariat would do well for the implementation. Dr Wang expressed his gratitude to all attendees for their valuable recommendations. As this year marks the 85th Anniversary of our alma mater, the Network would organise a series of celebratory activities to mark this significant milestone.

RUC - PolyU Doctor of Management Alumni Network - Visit Sinopec Group

On 29 December 2021, the Renmin University of China – The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Doctor of Management Alumni Network organised a visit to Sinopec Group, which ranks top 5 in Fortune Global 500. A 16-member delegation, including Professor Liu Jun, Consultant of DMgt Alumni Network, Professor of Business School, Renmin University of China, Dr Wang Yong, President of DMgt Alumni Network, Dr Jiang Bo, Secretary of DMgt Alumni Network, alumni and students, participated in the visit. Sinopec Group spokesperson Mr Lyu Dapeng, also Director of Promotion and General Manager of Brand Management, welcomed the delegation. A guided tour was given to our alumni and followed by a sharing talk regarding the history and development strategy of Sinopec. Last but not least, he shared his valuable experience in PR management and case studies in crisis management.

PolyU SHTM Mainland Alumni Network Celebrates PolyU’s 85th Anniversary in Shenzhen

On 27 December 2021, PolyU School of Hotel and Tourism Management Mainland Alumni Network (PolyU SHTMMAN) successfully organised the first event for celebration of PolyU’s 85th anniversary, bringing over 50 SHTMers together on the “One Greater Bay Area” cruise. This is not only a finale event of the network in 2021, but also an inaugurated celebratory event by the network to celebrate PolyU’s 85th anniversary. Mr Elton Sun, President of PolyU SHTMMAN concluded the fruitful results of the Network in 2021 and shared the Network’s plan for the coming year, including the setup of the Home of PolyU and the Network’s WeiXin official account. SHTMMAN will stage exciting celebratory events in major cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Changsha, Chengdu etc., further strengthening the bonds between the alumni and PolyU.

“Passing the Torch” Sponsorship Programme for Students’ Internship in the Mainland

“Passing the Torch” is a meaningful way of giving back by PolyU alumni. To facilitate students’ all-round development and enhance their professional competence, the Alumni Affairs Team of Mainland Development Office and Careers and Placement Section of Student Affairs Office jointly call upon alumni’s support for the newly launched internship sponsorship programme, which provides students valuable opportunities to explore the latest development and career prospect in the Mainland. Before the pandemic, hundreds of PolyU undergraduate students would participate in a 6-8 weeks’ internship programme in the Mainland each summer. We are now preparing for the internship programme to be rolled out in May to August 2022. The newly launched “Passing the Torch” Sponsorship programme aims to raise donations from our alumni as financial assistance for Students’ Internship in the Mainland. We look forward to your participation, to carry on this giving tradition. About the programme Under the sponsorship programme, each undergraduate student, who has completed a 6-8 weeks’ internship in the Mainland in 2022 summer and been recognised a satisfactory work performance, will be sponsored with an amount of HK$3,900. [Remarks: Priority will be given to students participating in alumni enterprises.] How to support All donations you make will bring benefit to PolyU students. Complete the “Online Donation Form” NOW and make donations with your credit card (the minimum amount is HK$500). Official receipt will be issued upon the acceptance of donations. How to give Please complete the “Online Donation Form”, and make online payment with your credit card (VISA/ MasterCard/ UnionPay) at PolyU Financial Office website. The transaction will be settled in Hong Kong dollars.
