Biography

Prof. Pong Ting-kei received his Bachelor degree and MPhil degree in 2004 and 2006, respectively, from Department of Mathematics in The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He obtained his PhD degree from Department of Mathematics in University of Washington in June 2011, and had been a Visiting Researcher at Simon Fraser University from July 2010 to March 2011. From June 2011 to July 2013, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of Combinatorics and Optimization in University of Waterloo. From July 2013 to July 2014, he was a PIMS postdoctoral fellow at Department of Computer Science in University of British Columbia. He joined The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 1st August 2014, as an Assistant Professor in Department of Applied Mathematics. He is currently a Professor in Department of Applied Mathematics. His research interest is continuous optimization.
