Introduction
Established in the 1930s, The Department of Building and Real Estate (BRE) has developed a leading position in providing a wide range of academic programmes that nurture preferred graduates for the building and real estate industry in the region. Our alumni have excelled in their professions locally and internationally. The Outstanding BRE Alumni Award aims to give public recognition to outstanding graduates of our Department for their distinguished accomplishments in their professions and significant contributions to the community.
Nominations
Nominations Deadline : 3 July 2012
Eligibility
Nominee
The nominee must be a bona fide graduate who has successfully completed regular full-time or part-time programmes offered by BRE (forerunners: "Building Department", "Department of Building, Surveying and Structural Engineering", & "Department of Building and Surveying") which lead to academic awards offered by the Department.
Proposer
Each nomination shall be proposed by :
Bona fide graduate of PolyU; or
Current staff member of PolyU; or
Honorary graduate, current Council member, current Court member, University Fellow of PolyU or current member of Department Advisory Committee of BRE
The proposer has to seek the nominee's consent to the nomination before submission. There is no limit to the number of nominations to be submitted by each proposer. However, the proposer cannot be the candidate himself/herself.
Selection Criteria
The major selection criteria include the nominee’s :
Personal achievements / accomplishments in his / her profession
Contribution to the community in which he / she lives and the built environment development &
Support to PolyU / BRE and the alumni development

Department of Building and Real Estate of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has great pleasure in presenting its “Outstanding BRE Alumni Award” to two alumni in recognition of their distinguished accomplishments in their professions and significant contributions to the Department, the PolyU and the community. The Award Presentation Ceremony and the Celebration Dinner will be held on 14 November 2012 and 13 December 2012, respectively. The awardees are as follows:

Failure to provide complete and accurate information may result in disqualification of the nominee.
After an award is presented, it may be withdrawn by the Department when it is deemed appropriate. The Department reserves all rights to modify the above rules and criteria at all time or waive compliance with such rules at its sole discretion provided that the decision lives up to the spirit and purposes of the Outstanding BRE Alumni Award.
