Awardees of CBS from the 8th Korean Consul General Cup Korean Speech Contest
We are thrilled to announce that two PolyU Korean minor students, Ms. Cheng Wing Ling Dorcas (Year 4 in CBS major) and Ms. Lee Yan Tung (Year 4 in Aviation Engineering major), have won the Grand Prize and the Second Prize, respectively, at the 8th Korean Consul General Cup Korean Speech Contest, which was held on 15 June 2024 (Click HERE to learn more about the competition). This Korean speech contest is annually hosted by the Korean Consulate General in Hong Kong and the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong, and is considered as the most prestigious Korean speech contest in Hong Kong.
The two PolyU Korean minor students were included into the sixteen finalists of the contest, and both have won its two highest prizes. For many years, PolyU Korean minor students have been winning prizes at this contest, but this is the first time to any university in Hong Kong which produced the winners of the top two prizes in the same year. This remarkable achievements showcase the excellence, dedication, and passion of the PolyU Korean minor students and teachers.
Both winners have received an eligibility to participate in Korean cultural training program hosted by King Sejong Institute Foundation, a Korean governmental organization to promote Korean learning around the world.
