Client Services Section
Professionals here take care of a pool of services, including property management, security, event management and support, pest control, cleaning, recycling, removal, and campus landscaping services. Committed to providing quality one-stop-shop customer-focused services, staff work in small teams to look after daily building operations, and respond to requests for building maintenance and repair work.
Administration and Ancillary Services Section
It provides departmental budget planning and monitoring as well as administrative services including secretarial support and human resources management to other teams in the Office. It also looks after the central maintenance store, transport fleet, helpdesk and central mailing service.
Security Services Section
Staff of the Security Services Section monitor the physical safety of the campus and fulfill responsibility for the protection of life and property on university campus. They interact positively with campus community members on a daily basis and manage all emergencies and disasters on campus. They also keep a close watch on campus access, traffic, car parking, and take care of incident preparedness.
Campus Sustainability Section
It formulates and implements initiatives on campus sustainability to meet the strategic needs of the University. It connects various University units and external organisations and works collaboratively with them to advance sustainability on PolyU campuses, eyeing on focus areas such as smart campus development. It supports the University to achieve environmental excellence by strengthening management practices, facilitate academic and research collaborations and active engagement with stakeholders.
Technical Services Section 1
Specialists and experts on mechanical services are here to monitor the operation, handle repairs and maintenance of Mechanical, Ventilation and Air-conditioning system across the campus. They are responsible for the repairs and maintenance of laboratory facilities, plumbing and drainage plants, the Building Management System, as well as alteration and addition works involving mechanical installations. They also contribute to replacement and improvement works to existing mechanical installations, and examine lifting appliances, lifting gears, boilers and pressure vessels regularly.
Technical Services Section 2
Experts in this Section focus on electrical services, fire services and security systems. They look after the repairs and maintenance of fire services installations, electrical installations, lighting installations, lifts and escalators.
They have a strategic focus in energy management over the entire campus, and handles security system design and maintenance including CCTV, access control and auto-door system.

Technical Services Section 3
Experts here focus on the planning and executing of building, plumbing and drainage works. Along their work in the upgrading of building facilities, minor alteration and addition works, they are responsible for planned and preventive maintenance of building fabrics and external areas including plumbing and drainage systems. They handle large-scale breakdown maintenance of building fabrics and external areas, repairs to water leakage of building fabrics, signs and graphics at outdoor campus, and the periodic clearance of underground drainage system and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant. They help in sourcing off-campus space in private buildings to suit the accommodation need of the University.
Cost and Contract Section
It renders support to other teams of the Office concerning pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying services for work contracts. It assists in financial planning, funding application, cost control, budget allocations, contract procurement and tendering, and monitor all relevant accounts and budgets of the Office. It offers professional advice on procurement strategy, contractual matter and insurance, and ensures all processes comply with current standards and regulations.
Health and Safety Unit
It continuously promotes health and safety culture and awareness in the Office. It plans and implement health and safety as well as hazard control programmes and activities, and takes care of job hazard analysis and risk assessment. It also monitors and checks the contractors appointed by the Office. Aiming to achieve safety targets and compliance with the University’s health and safety regulations, it executes regular site safety inspections and offer corresponding advice and support in tackling health and safety issues. It also handles investigation of accidents and incidents.
Information and Communications Technology Unit
This Unit is responsible for the development and maintenance of all in-house Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure, automation, and the provision of ICT advice for various projects. It also takes care of the management of online services, website, databases, and manages IT hardware and software for the Office.
Project Teams
Specialised professionals of the Teams possess building works and building services knowledge to handle special tasks and projects of the Office, including technical works raised by other departments. They also handle large scale improvement works for building facilities and provide project management service for projects involving different disciplines.
