PolyU and China Southern Power Grid Company (CSG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 5 December 2024 to establish a strategic collaboration to support energy development and green transition in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). Before the signing ceremony, the PolyU and CSG visited the Electric Vehicle (EV) Laboratory in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), showcasing the latest developments and applications in EV technology. Following this, the signing ceremony commenced. In the presence of Prof. Christopher CHAO, Vice President (Research and Innovation) of PolyU, Mr LIU Qihong, Director and Deputy Party Secretary of CSG, the signing was conducted by Prof. Chung Chi-yung, Head of PolyU EEE and Mr ZHAN Xiaohui, Assistant to General Manager and Director of Human Resources.
The collaboration will focus on talent development, technological innovation, knowledge exchange and educational resource sharing. Looking ahead, PolyU and CSG will deepen their cooperation in low-carbon energy innovation and new power system construction, striving to position the GBA as a global leader in green innovation and development.
