The PolyU Desktop Sharing portal has been launched and students can remote access to desktops at Student Computer Centre (SCC) to use licensed software installed on these machines (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, SPSS etc.) for learning purpose anytime and anywhere.
For users who are interested to use the software on dedicated machines at SCC while off-campus, simply open a browser and login to PolyU Desktop Sharing portal (https://puuds.polyu.edu.hk) with PolyU email address and NetPassword, click the Adobe CC icon. The system will bring up a desktop in SCC, and you can start using all the available software. No installation is require. For detailed step-by-step procedures please refer to here.
In the light of COVID-19 pandemic, academic departments may need to offer remote access to lab computing facilities to staff and students for online teaching and learning activities. With the technology of PolyU Desktop Sharing portal, it is easier and more convenient for users to leverage the campus lab computing facilities while they are not able to physically visit them.
