Using facial identity to access Student Computer Centre

Effective from 1 November 2024, besides using a staff or student ID card or the time-based QR code from the PolyU staff mobile app/ PolyULife student mobile app, staff or students can present their facial identity to the facial detection device at entrance turnstile to gain access to Student Computer Centre (SCC).

We are excited to announce an upgrade to our Student High Performance Computing (HPC) services. MATLAB R2024a is now accessible via the Open OnDemand (OOD) web interface. This powerful tool offers seamless data analysis and visualization, allowing you to fully utilize our HPC resources without local installation—simply use a web browser.

Department Virtual Assistants on PolyULife

Academic departments that have commissioned the AI Virtual Assistant to address student study-related inquiries on their department website can now extend the Virtual Assistant to reach out to students via the PolyULife mobile app. Students, upon logging into the PolyULife mobile app, can click on the department Virtual Assistant link available under the Study Info page to inquire about study administration matters associated with their hosting department.
