To strengthen protection against advanced email threats and risks like phishing, business email compromise, and malware attacks, Office 365 Cloud for both staff and student have now been enabled Microsoft Defender for O365 (MDO) service to screen all inbound messages to staff and student mailboxes.
Collaboration tools (SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams) are common vulnerable targets apart from email messaging. MDO can detect and block existing files/ website links that are identified as malicious in MS Teams sites and OneDrive for Business document libraries.
Quarantine notification for inbound messages
Suspected phishing and malicious emails filtered by MDO will be held in quarantine to prevent them from reaching your inbox. Users will receive a daily quarantine notification if there are any incoming messages that have been quarantined due to suspected mail threats. To review the quarantine list, users can access Quarantine Portal to check and release any emails determined to be false positive cases.
