Specifications

Major Functions / Key Features

The cone calorimeter is a critical tool for fire safety education, providing a quantitative analysis of a material's reaction to fire under controlled conditions. It measures key parameters such as heat release rate, smoke production rate, mass loss rate, and ignition time by exposing a sample to a defined radiant heat flux. This equipment allows students to explore the fire behavior of different materials, assess the effectiveness of fire retardants, and understand how factors like material composition, surface characteristics, and environmental conditions influence fire growth and smoke emission. The cone calorimeter helps students gain a deeper understanding of material flammability, fire dynamics, and the impacts of combustion on safety, making it an invaluable addition to fire safety and engineering education.
