Work Integrated Education (WIE) is a work-based learning experience, which takes place in an organisational context relevant to a student's future profession, or the development of generic skills that will be valuable in that profession. WIE has been a compulsory component of the undergraduate programmes at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University since the 2005/06 cohort, and students are required to complete it to be eligible for graduation.
