Biography

Dr Janet Lok Chun Lee obtained her BSc in Sports Science and Leisure Management, MPhil in Public Health, and PhD in Social Work and Social Administration, all at The University of Hong Kong.

Dr Lee is a scholar in physical activity behaviour and community health. Over the years, she works extensively with scholars in the social work, nursing, rehabilitation sciences and design disciplines.

Her primary research interest centre on the environment (built and virtual) and physical activity behaviour. Her current research investigates how outdoor exercise facilities built in public parks could play a role in the current rehabilitation and primary healthcare system in Hong Kong. She is also interested in improving the delivery and implementation of tele-exercise for different population groups.

Other research interests include Eastern mind-body exercise and the use of physical exercise modalities in alleviating mental health conditions.

She has successfully obtained Beat Drugs Fund as Principal Investigator and investigated how different types of physical exercise influence the health outcomes of drug abusers in different rehabilitation stages and how different types of physical exercise help drug abusers eventually reintegrate into society.

She is currently working on integrative intervention which composed of both physical and digital elements to improve health outcomes of senior citizens in Hong Kong.
