60th Anniversary Gala Dinner

Join us in the celebration of PolyU Design's 60th anniversary at a special event uniting with our alumni and the community.

Albeit the series of exhibitions, talks and events held the past few months, we are hosting a Gala Dinner at the Sky Ballroom of The Henderson on 29 November 2024 (Friday) and would like to invite your presence.

The Henderson completed this year is the second piece of architecture by the renowned Zaha Hadid Architects in Hong Kong since the completion of the Jockey Club Innovation Tower at Hong Kong Polytechnic University ground in 2014. The Innovation Tower being the home of PolyU Design for the past ten years have nurtured many outstanding designers of different disciplines. The management of The Henderson is kind enough to allow us to be one of the partners to host the event in the building before the official opening in 2025, and you are invited to join us to be one of the very first person to step into this amazing building before so many others in the city. In hosting the event at the iconic new architecture, we are also paying tribute to the late Dame Zaha, recognised as a key figure in architecture of the late-20th and early-21st centuries.

The night will be full of fun and I am sure you won’t want to miss it. The Steering Committee is working on the programme for the night and details will be released soon. To ensure that you won’t miss out on the fun and this remarkable opportunity, quickly check your calendar and subscribe for tickets or patronage asap. To make the dinner more meaningful, net income from ticket sales, patronage and auction deducting expenses will be used to benefit 60 current School of Design students to commemorate the 60 years of achievements.

As seats are limited, we urge you to gather your friends and reply by completing the slip attached or register for tickets on the official google form as soon as possible so you won’t miss out on this great momentous celebration and the opportunity to step foot into this amazing new iconic architecture. The Gala Dinner will begin with a cocktail starting at 5:30pm on that evening, at which you can mingle with so many great masters of the industry and friends of the School from around the world, as well as to have a drink during the magic hour enjoying an 180 degrees of the stunning view of Central and the harbour. Dinner will start at 7:00pm and ends around 11:00pm.
