- Prioritize patient’s individual needs and eye safety, support informed decision making and consent to ethically conduct for all clinical trials.
- Engage patients and their families as active participants in research studies, incorporate patients’ feedback into the design of clinical trials and adhere to the treatment protocols.
- Monitor and improve the relevance and applicability of the trial results regularly to ensure maintenance of high standards of treatment and patient care.
Innovation and Technology
- Explore leading-edge patient-oriented technologies, including telemedicine, wearable devices, and artificial intelligence for optometric research.
- Develop user-friendly mechanisms, including reviewing patient’s experiences for potential optimization of protocols that address emerging eye health challenges.
- Collaborate with industry partners to pilot and validate new technologies for improving access to healthcare enquiries.
Education and Training
- Provide shared resources and mentoring in clinical trial methodologies for optometry students, residents, and practicing optometrists.
