Chemistry for a Sustainable Future: Innovation and Challenges
We are pleased to welcome you to the FS Symposium: Chemistry for a Sustainable Future: Innovation and Challenges, hosted by the Faculty of Science (FS) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).
As we navigate the complexities of the modern world, the need for sustainable solutions to ensure a prosperous future has become increasingly crucial. As a critical part of scientific progress, chemistry plays a pivotal role in shaping the world of tomorrow. This symposium aims to highlight the importance of chemistry as a driving force behind innovative transformations while addressing the challenges we face in forging a sustainable path forward.
From the exciting advancements in organometallic-enhanced nanoelectronics and solar cells to the controlled synthesis and applications of rare earth luminescent nanomaterials, our symposium promises to uncover new frontiers in chemistry and materials science. The program will also delve into various other captivating subjects, such as metal-azolate frameworks, nanostructured functional materials, and the ways in which chemistry can contribute to the betterment of society, such as the equine sports industry through the research and testing conducted at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Racing Laboratory.
This event brings together over 15 speakers from renowned institutions worldwide, including Imperial College London, Lanzhou University, Sun Yat-sen University, The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Racing Laboratory, and many more. These internationally renowned speakers will share their insights and valuable experiences during this knowledge-sharing platform. We hope that you will enjoy the program that is about to unfold over the next two days.
May this symposium serve as a catalyst for new ideas, foster collaborations, and inspire us all to strive for a sustainable future through innovative approaches in chemistry.
