Dr Ng Tat-lun Memorial Scholarship Presentation Ceremony 2018/19 was held on 5 Dec 2018 to honour 16 students from the eight Faculties of PolyU, for their outstanding academic achievements. "Dr Ng Tat-lun Memorial Scholarship" was set up in 2013 to pay tribute to the late Deputy Council Chairman and Distinguished Alumnus Ir Dr Ng Tat-lun, for his tremendous contributions to the development of the University as well as his passion for lifelong learning.

The Ceremony was officiated by Mrs Millen Ng and Ms Irene Ng, wife and daughter of Dr Ng Tat-lun, Professor Timothy W. Tong, PolyU President and Dr Katherine Ngan Ng Yu-ying, Chairman of the PolyU Foundation. Members of the Governing Committee of the PolyU Foundation, PolyU staff members, students and parents also attended the ceremony to congratulate the scholarship recipients.

Addressing the Ceremony, Professor Tong said, "Dr Ng was diligent, erudite and multi-talented. He has obtained over 10 bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. He had a long affiliation with PolyU over the past fifty years, from student to Council member. He was also the founder of the Federation of PolyU Alumni Associations. I hope PolyU students will inherit Dr Ng's enthusiasm in pursuing knowledge and the attitude in treating others with the utmost honesty and respect, and will be able to give back to the society in the future.”
