On 29 April, PolyU held an appreciation luncheon to express its gratitude to Lam Woo Foundation for the generous donation to support the development of “Lam Woo Distinguished Social Work Awards”. PolyU Interim President Prof. Philip Chan presented a souvenir to Dr Samuel Lam, Council member of Lam Woo Foundation on behalf of the University and thanked the Foundation for its staunch support to PolyU.
Set up by Lam Woo Foundation in 2012 and organised by Peking University-The Hong Kong Polytechnic University China Social Work Research Centre, the “Lam Woo Distinguished Social Work Awards” is the first national social work award jointly organised by universities from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland in recognition of the scholars, students and service units in the mainland with outstanding contributions and performance in the field of social work.
