Four PolyU graduates have started a local social enterprise focusing on re-using carton boxes. Named The Second Box (拾易紙長), this young enterprise operates by paying a higher-than-market price to scavengers for their collected cardboard boxes and aluminum cans, and resells to the business and the public. They also run creative workshops to teach the public about upcycling carton boxes. Furthermore, they have now established a new business line and design their own carton products such as festival gifts and greeting cards. They advocate ‘turning the trash into treasures’ and they really achieve it. You can read more about them from their website.
