The Campus Sustainability Office organized a series of lunch seminars in April and May subsequent to its campaigning of the campus-wide Plastic Free Friday movement. Renowned speakers from the city were invited to offer their insights with over 400 audiences. Mr. Edmond Leung, co-founder of Smiley Planet shared his views on green living and his ‘Go Cup’ project which aims to curb the use of disposable plastic cups. Miss Wing Lee, founder of We Use Tableware Rental Service elaborated on the difficulties she met in changing people’s mindset about adopting reusable tableware with higher cost in events, and how she managed to convince her clients. Ms. Dana Winograd, the Director of Operation for Plastic Free Seas shared her first-hand experience in combating marine pollution, and how she and her partners in the Plastic Free Seas (PFS) work in educating the public about the adversity of plastic marine pollution.
