VeggieLicious 2021: The Secret of Picking Fruits 識揀水果

Mandy Chan co-established Frutodor (FTD) with her husband. Frutodor is an online fruit store in HK/ China, which aims at tapping Hong Kong's evolving food trends by sourcing and importing hard-to-find specialty fruits for home delivery. Frutodor imports from producers worldwide, with a charter to source from “good growers” that are committed to sustainable development of the industry by avoiding the use of unnecessary hormones or chemicals. With FTD, Mandy wants to educate customers about eating the best quality fruit at the best available time and to instil this ‘real fresh fruits’ concept. She even establishes Frutus Charitable Foundation and International Growers Standard Organization (IGSO). Frutus is a charity which encourages the new generation to learn about empathy and social responsibility by organizing different events about fruit sharing, while IGSO works closely with good growers to set up international standards for the sustainable development of the world’s agricultural industry. Mandy與丈夫共同開設果臨門網店，以香港及中國內地為市場，配合香港的食品發展趨勢，採購和入口罕有的水果，為顧客提供外送服務。 果臨門的進口水果來自世界各地的「良心果農」，採用可持續發展、避免使用不必要的激素及化學品為原則。她希望透過果臨門，教育顧客在最佳時候享用最優質的水果，並灌輸他們何謂「真正新鮮水果」的概念。Mandy亦創立了果燃共享慈善基⾦及國際農民標準組織(IGSO)。前者是一個慈善機構，透過舉辦各類與「分享⽔果」相關的活動，培養新一代的同理⼼和社會責任。後者則與良心農民合作，為全球農業制定一套國際標準的可持續發展方式。
