You won’t be surprised to see Hong Kong switching off its lights held on Saturday, 27 March 2021 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. as it will celebrate Earth Hour.

Earth Hour has been a global movement to call for people’s action to protect the planet and promote sustainability. It is all about spreading the awareness of environmental issues and calling for support for fight against climate change. Its popularity grew and has become a global phenomenon for years, winning rapport from all around the globe.

PolyU has shown keen support to this global event since 2007 and has pledged to continue this year. The University will switch off most non-essential lighting and TV displays during that period. If you want to be one among the communities who cherish our planet, please join and

  1. Turn off all non-essential lighting and electrical appliances at your home, offices and hostels during that period of time;
  2. Tell your family members, friends, and everyone you know and you are all in for Earth Hour and ask them to join you;
  3. Take action and to lead a sustainable and green lifestyle, no matter on campus or at home.
