PolyU provides ample opportunity for productive environmental change on campus and is calling for support from all the staff to update their offices with sustainability through the Green PolyU Awards – Green Office programme. Since its inception in 2016, the Green Office Programme has consistently grown year on year, encouraging all staff to take necessary measures to ensure energy efficiency, lower carbon emissions as well as prudent use of resources. It has established itself as the University’s leading initiative for rewarding and celebrating offices for their contribution to reducing negative environmental impacts and putting green ideas in their day-to-day operations.
The Green PolyU Awards – Green Office programme runs a well-structured assessment scheme and award system for offices on campus, providing clear guidelines and assessment criteria to help colleagues identify their impact on the environment. Concluding Phase 4 of Green PolyU Awards – Green Office programme in 2019/20, four offices were highly commended for their efforts and outstanding abilities to achieve green workplace targets among all.

Green culture at work has a farther reach that goes beyond the office walls. There are a lot of proactive things we can do in our offices to instill environmental considerations into every operation. And there are small changes we can make to bring about great possibilities in consciously building sustainable thinking into our habits. From hardware design, office set up, training, assessments, competitions, publicity materials to engagement activities, the Green PolyU Awards – Green Office programme touches on the essence of a green corporate culture and shaping sustainability as a core value of the University.
