Flame Violet (Episcia spp.) are perennial herbaceous creeping and trailing plants inhabit in the understorey of tropical regions of Central and South America. They have showy, vivid, and velvety leaves and their trumpet-shaped flowers range from white, yellow, lavender, pink or red. Established plants can display flowers throughout the year.

Flame Violet are relatives of the African Violets and they enjoy semi-shade environment. They grow best under moist, but a well-drained media is essential. The soilless potting mix for African Violets is also suitable for them. Flame Violet can be easily propagated by stem cutting and runner. The foliage and colorful trumpet-shaped flowers of the Flame Violet can definitely brighten any room!
