Smart Meter Solution for Student Halls of Residence

A new smart meter solution was launched to both Hung Hom and Homantin Student Halls of Residence to facilitate the operation of electric appliances in halls.

The new solution including a mobile app, ‘ePurse’, and payment kiosks which allows hall residents to operate electric appliances such as air-conditioners in student rooms and laundry machines using their own mobile devices. Hall residents can check and top up credits for using in-room air conditioner, check availability of laundry machines and pay for hall activities using the stored value.

In addition, the new solution supports hall residents/guests to use the laundry facilities by direct payment via Octopus card at payment kiosks located on each residential floor.
