Useful Information
Please ensure you take out your staff / student ID card from the cell phone case / holsters / clips before placing your smartphone on wireless phone charger to avoid any damage to the card.
Wireless charger, in particular charger using high-speed charge up technology can deliver up to 15W of power. The electrical induction will affect chipset embedded in staff / student card thus making encrypted data stored on card no longer readable from Near Field Communication (NFC) readers.
To ensure your PolyU staff / student ID card remains as valid identity to allow you gaining physical access to campus and offices, always remember to remove your staff / student ID card from your cell phone case / holsters / clips before you place the smartphone on a wireless charger.
