April CLO Meeting

Departmental Computer Liaison Officers (CLO) met on 29 April 2024 to discuss the following topics:

IT Service Update

• Renewal of MS Campus licenses, MATLAB Campus-wide licenses and an update on PolyU Desktop Management System (PUDMS) software records.
• New bulk purchase agreement for workstations, desktops, and notebooks.
• Update on O365 Storage Policy.
• Considerations on acquiring Department Network Attached Storage (NAS).

Security

• Remote user machine Host Information Profile (HIP) check enabled in research / staff VPN.
• Enhancing Endpoint Protection: MDE deployment update and the need to expand coverage via Entra / Enterprise AD join.

• Update and demo on AI assistant feature in Blackboard Ultra and class recording with Zoom.
