To enhance the performance and security of the VPN service, an important version update of the GlobalProtect client program is required. This update is scheduled to begin on 5 December 2024.
Your action is required:
When you connect to the VPN using the GlobalProtect client program on your device, the system will check if a version update is necessary. If an update is needed, you will see the following pop-up message:
Please click “Yes” to proceed. The update process will be carried out automatically and typically takes about 3 minutes to complete. Once the process is finished, you will need to reconnect to the VPN.
Please note:
- To ensure smooth access to the VPN service, please update the GlobalProtect client program at your earliest convenience, and no later than 31 December 2024.
- If you plan to travel outside Hong Kong with your device, it is recommended that you connect to the VPN and initiate the GlobalProtect client program update before your departure to ensure a smooth update process.
