Importance of housekeeping and data protection

1. Organize content into sub-folders based on subject or context

Systematically categorizing documents and removing outdated or irrelevant files can help you find what you need quickly. This efficiency is particularly beneficial during busy periods, such as exam preparations or project deadlines.

2. Create a new dedicated sub-folder for sharing

Only copy documents intended for sharing into the designated sub-folder, with access permissions set for others. For documents containing confidential information, it is recommended to add a read-level password and share the password with the target user via a separate email.

3. Make a backup copy of important work-in-progress documents

To avoid losing work-in-progress documents that you have invested significant time in preparing, it’s a good practice to create a backup copy. You can store these backups on OneDrive, in the personal home drive folder, or on a password-protected USB drive.

Have a successful and rewarding 2024/25 academic year!
